Throughout the year during SUPA Writing 105 we did many activities that taught me how to grow as a writing and expand my message through not only text, but through other medias as well. At the beginning of the year we started the our Op-Doc projects, which stands for opinionated documents. By doing our own research and hearing what other people learned from their topics, I became very informed of things i would rarely ever think about, like free climbing and a little girl boxer. Something we watched during the year that had a big impact on me was the Tough Guise Documentary. I was able to see a mans perspective of their insecurities. A weak man is very dehumanized in our society and by watching this documentary we see why men are pressured to be dominant and the problems it creates. We also watched a movie called Little Miss Sunshine, and this movie was not only fun to watch, but it teaches you so much about the pressures between men and women of all ages. The movie is entertaining but also makes you tear up. One of the readings we read this year was about Tyler Clementi, the college student who jumped to his death off the George Washington Bridge. As sad as it was to read a story like that, it should be heard by every college and high school student because a situation like that should never happen and kids should know how to stop/prevent it. The last thing that I really enjoyed was learning about my topic for our analysis essay. I dived in very deep into my research and I was able to see many different perspectives and I'm very glad with how it turned out.
