In this documentary, Tough Guise explains the relationship between the effect of pop-culture and the social construction of masculine identities in the United States. He brings up many variables that potentially go into the factors towards "toxic masculinity". Toxic masculinity is a restraining description for the gendered behavior in which men are measured by strength. He elaborates on how males are pressured since birth to be the cultural ideal of "manly", which is often related to having a violent mindset. This statement is being supported everyday, by entertainment, advertisements, and elders who belittle younger generations of males for their lack of manliness. The issue between the NRA vs. Video game industry. How entertainment plays a role in influencing a more manly audience. He shows statistics behind men being mass shooters, and how society tries to blame this because of mental illness. Although women go through mental illnesses too, but they don't commit these hateful acts. He focuses on a large reason that explains how when men are violent, society tries to bring up excuses and other factors to explain why. While in the case that women are violent, gender becomes the story.

I agree that the video game industry is influencing the male populations decisions of violent acts. Maybe less screen time would help reduce the amount of violence in today's society.
